Cycling Stunt Road from Mulholland Highway
Santa Monica Mountains, California
Ride 3.8 miles gaining 1,323’ at 6.6% average grade.
Stunt Road is one of the best climbs in the Santa Monica Mountains not starting on Pacific Coast Highway. This is a challenging, fun and scenic climb with mild traffic. We also consider Stunt Road, along with the high point on Yerba Buena 20 miles west, to be one of the finish hubs in the Santa Monica Mountains.
From PCH, three great climbs can finish at Stunt Road:
Las Flores Canyon, Big Rock, and Topanga Canyon.
Our research suggests Stunt Road gets its name from the original family to homestead a ranch in this area.
Climb begins by riding up Stunt Road from its T intersection with Mulholland Highway.
Calabasas Peak Motorway is seen etched into the mountainside in right top and bottom photo.
