I rode this climb on Oct 30, 2023 and its been freshly repaved and repaired ! Top to bottom is rolled smooth tarmac. its still steep - its still difficult - but now you don't have to "pick your line" while climbing.

CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Jamison Road, Santa Cruz County

Ride 3 miles to 2,289’ gaining 1,539’ at 9.5%

Like its twin to the south (Alba Road) Jamison Creek Road is a beast of a climb connecting Hwy 9 to Empire Grade in the thick redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains.   Shallow to start at 4% for the first half mile, this one does not disappoint as it pitches up to a quad burning 11.2% for the final two miles.  We follow Jamison Creek for the first 1.5 miles of the climb.

We are surrounded and covered by thick forest as we climb this monster and it is a wonderful climb during the summer months as we can beat the heat of the inland regions by travelling to the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains to ride and climb.

Roadway surface and traffic:  The road is in excellent condition as of 2016 and traffic is very light - this is a safe climb.
