Boltby Bank is #54 on Simon Warren’s 100 Greatest British Climbs.  This one begins a kilometer northwest of Boltby, which is a  small village in North Yorkshire, England, and is located on the eastern edge of the  North York Moors National Park.

“A real classic of the North York Moors. Boltby Bank has a well deserved reputation, with 160m of height gain packed into little less than 1 km of climbing. After a gradual introduction, the climb gets steeper and peaks at just under 25% near the top of the climb, – a tough section when you are already quite exhausted from the efforts of the lower slopes. The climb is fairly straight up (no messing around with hairpins in the North York Moors) until a final right hand turn near the top. However, the good news is that this doesn’t conceal any-more climbing, the climb levels off and it is a sign you have nearly made it. Take a moment to do a u-turn and look back down the climb” (Cycling Uphill).
