The road surface is good and fairly smooth. Traffic is very light but fast moving.
This climb is unsupported. There's a water fountain at the Monte Cristo Fire Station, but sometimes it's turned off. The next closest water to this climb is further up the road at the Red Box Picnic Area, which is always on.
