The road surface is good and fairly smooth.  Traffic is very light but fast moving.

CLIMB SUMMARY

This was the final categorized climb of Stage 7 of the 2019 Tour of California before a long descent down to the finish line at the Rose Bowl.  Which means… its also the last climb ever ridden in the Tour of California 😢.  Bring it back, Amgen!

Route profile for Stage 7, TofC 2019. Full route map at bottom

In my opinion, this climb is never as much fun as you think it’s going to be, probably due to the several thousand feet of climbing you’re going to have to do if you decide to ride to the start - this climb is smack in the center of the San Gabriels. There are also a couple rollers before the start, both reaching 10% for brief periods. Ouch!

Things you’ll find on the side of the road of an old Tour of California Climb! These bottles had been lying off to the side in a ditch since spring of 2019…

Any guess on who’s these were?
