CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Hwy 191 North (Flaming Gorge)

Ride 5.3 miles gaining 1,464’ at 5.2% average grade.

Climb summary by PJAMM ultra ambassador Bruce Hamilton (Midway, Utah).

This climb starts at the arched bridge about 1/2 mile from the Flaming Gorge visitor center at the Green River Dam. We parked at the Visitor Center and enjoyed a few minutes of looking around inside - they have a 3D model of the topography of the area and some history of the mountain west.

The climb itself is not long or difficult but it is enjoyable - very little traffic and some nice areas looking down at the Green River. The area just to the north of the river is bare and brown but the climb was green and through grass fields and occasional trees. There is no shade, however, and it can be hot here in summer so go early. The top is at the intersection of Hwy 191 and Hwy 44 and it's a smooth and easy descent.

Thank you Bruce and Stacy!!
