Climb Summary

“The longest of the 3 climbs, after the solid start and turn onto Route 157…at mile 1.2 turn left onto Wolf Hill Road (unmarked as of 2014).  The initial 0.7 miles contain some of the most challenging grade on the hill over a twisty road, followed by a short descent.  Climbing soon resumes over variable slope and among a few residences, including another short descent before more stout grade is found.  At mile 3.8, turn right on Route 303 to continue.  This finishing stretch is over moderate grade and the climb ends at an unmarked top as the grade flattens out (the end of the [Route 85/157] climb is 1.3 miles further north).” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 121.)
