Cycling Potter Mountain Road, New York
Photo: Unlocking New York
“Potter Mountain Road is one of several area climbs heading west into the northern fringes of the Catskills. From the old school house, head west on moderate grade which in due course becomes more solid, the most challenging slope on the hill. Eventually the pedaling gets easier and some views and a few houses appear as you continue to gain altitude. A short flat is found near the top and then climbing resumes over somewhat shallow grade up to listed climb top at Good Fellow Lane on the right.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 122.)
