“The south side of Route 206 is a longer and less steep overall hill compared to its north side.  From Downsville, you pull out of town over shallow and gradually increasing slope.  Soon you are riding along a ridgeline and within woods in places as well as among a few vehicles here and there.  Several miles in you find the steepest sustained climbing on the hill.  The solid climbing continues up to the listed top at a large pullout on the left.  After a flat the road then continues to climb intermittently and over very shallow slope but significant climbing has ended.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 128.)
