Cycling Harriman State Park West, New York

“While not a difficult ascent, the western approach into scenic Harriman State Park on Route 106 is a very popular route for local riders. It begins as shallow which gradually increases as you ride east including the steepest ascending (although not steep) on the hill. Just over one mile in, you come to a lake and the grade eases and then the road descends. From here you ride over shallow grade that includes another descent and a flat. The listed climb ends at a descent that leads down to a traffic circle.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 150.)
