As mentioned in the other review, this one is harder than it seems, it's a stairstepper climb so it's just a wall, some flat(ish) climbing and then another wall. This is doable for experienced climbers but is certainly tough at an elevation-once you make it to the summit there are some more rollers until the turn around for the death ride.

Did this climb today as part of the 2022 California Death Ride - watch out for this one - it was definitely tough after already climbing both sides of Monitor and Ebbetts. There are steep switchbacks and as soon as you are done with them, you have a moment to recover at 6% as you are staring at the next wall. The good news is it was super fun to descend on the way back!!!

CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Pacific Summit

Ride 2.3 miles gaining 963’ at 7.9% average grade.

Visit our Death Ride page for detailed information on each route and climb in this ride.

Summary from PJAMM friend and contributor Dan Razum:

This is a fairly short climb but it packs a bit of a punch because the gradient is not uniform. Instead there are several steep sections, interspersed with shallower sections. It is difficult to get into a rhythm with the different slopes and it might be tempting to just power through the steep sections but slow and steady could be a better approach.

The road is narrow, not much wider than a single lane but it is in good condition, the pavement is  quite smooth.  Since there is little traffic, it is a safe climb.
