This is a beautiful climb out of south central Washington through Gifford Pinchot National Forest (est. 1908; 1,321,506 acres).  Mt. Saint Helens is visible at locations along this climb and is just 10 miles from the tiny towns of Cougar, WA (pop. 117) where the climb begins.
