Climb Summary

Cycling Vail Pass West (Vail)

Vail Pass is the only pass in Colorado dedicated solely to cyclists and pedestrians.  This is the longer and more difficult side of the cycling Vail Path (9.7 miles at 3.8% versus 5.7 miles at 2.8%).

The climb begins at the intersection of Bighorn Road and Streamside Circle East, east of Vail.

Black Lake (there is Black Lake and Black Lake Number 2).

These photos are of Black Lake which is just a mile from the top of the climb.

Gate 1.2 miles from the top - no motor vehicles on the path before that point.
