This climb is in the North Georgia Mountains.  The climb is moderately challenging with a fairly steady grade that rarely goes above 8%.  The steepest ¼ mile is 7.8% and the steepest ½ mile is 7.1%.

This climb is in the Chattahoochee NF (866,468 acres; est. 1936).

The Appalachian Trail crosses at Unicoi Gap.

Traffic and roadway:  The roadway is excellent.  There is moderate traffic on this route, including truck traffic.
