Cycling Bear Notch North, New Hampshire
Photo: Wanderlust Family Adventure
“One of the most scenic climbs in this guide, the north side of Bear Notch is a shallow grade hill near North Conway, NH. You ride within woods and with little traffic for the entire ascent. There are no surprises on this one and the climb ends at an unmarked but obvious summit. The south side of Bear Notch is a similar but more shallow hill (3.9 miles at 2.5% average grade).” (This quote is presented with the approval of John Summerson, from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 95.)
