“The climb of North Groton Road (Groton Dump to many) is a popular ascent with solid ramps.  From the town of Groton, begin over shallow grade which soon turns more challenging.  You pass a few houses along the narrow and somewhat dark road as you continue to gain altitude along the rolling route.  A steep ramp then takes riders up to the dump as the grade eases but keep climbing for another 0.7 miles up to the unmarked but obvious summit…” (This is a quote presented with the approval of John Summerson, from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 104.)
