Climb Summary

“Hartland Road is another popular area ascent over a shallow overall grade.  It carries riders essentially due west to other climbing along with some traffic at times.  As mentioned the grade for the entire hill is shallow to moderate as you ride though woods and among some residences here and there.  Towards the top the slope gets very shallow and the listed hill ends at the junction with Route 179 at East Hartland.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 54.)
