Cycling Clesson Brook Road, Massachusetts

“Clesson Brook Road is an isolated and mostly shallow ascent that takes riders west to other riding/climbing. Along a creek down low, you ride through woods and by some homes with easy pedaling. After two miles you will ride by a covered bridge on the left. Soon the route gets quite dark but the pedaling stays mostly moderate throughout. Over the 2nd half of the climb the grade gets stair step in nature and the ascent eventually ends as the slope eases up to Plainfield Road.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 80.)
