Climb Summary

Cycling Stoss (BIG #555)

Ride 8.4 kilometers gaining 503 meters at 6% average grade.

Photos:  Helmuth Dekkers, Netherlands.

Summary from Helmuth Dekkers:

“This climb starts at Altstätten, a nice small village. The road to Stoss carries a lot of traffic but is fairly wide so this does not cause any problems but it lowers the joy of cycling a bit. This is compensated though by the nice views one has on the way up on the Saint Gall Rhine Valley. The climb is very regular and has an average gradient of close to 7%. It leads to the Stoss Inn at the top where you can have a drink and sit outside to enjoy the view.
