Cycling Glaubenbuellpass East

This ascent I started from Giswil. Just follow the Panoramastrasse that takes you out of Giswil, The first 1.3km are almost flat. But from then on it is a steady high  gradient, continuously above 9%, to the pass. After 3km the Panormaroad swings to the left and at the first hairpin you have already a good view on the lake (Sarnersee) which will only get better once one get higher. But after the 3rd left hand turn hairpin there is a long fairly straight stretch that leads you further away from the lake and the view gets obscured by the landscape and farms that are scattered  in it.

As well as you will cycle into the woods. Not much to see then the road ahead of you flanked by trees. After about 11km you'll pass Bergrestaurant Mörlialp. Just 3km left now and law and behold just before the last hairpin one can see the lake again and see how many altitude you gained. In the last hairpin there is a small place where one can stop to take in the view which can be gorgeous if the weather is good. Ultimo kilometro 🙂 The pass itself does not offer much of a view unfortunately. But the constant high gradient makes it worthy climb anyway.
