CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Glacier de Moiry to the upper parking lot - the end of the road.

Ride 33 kilometers gaining 1,935 meters at 5.4% average grade.

Ascent to Glacier Moiry from Chippis during the fall colors.

This amazing bike climb takes us up to and past the Moiry Glacier which is a 5 kilometer long glacier (as of 2005, so who knows now . . . 😢).  The climb is in the Pennine Alps in the canton of Valais, Switzerland.  It is also one of the HC climbs that make up one of the greatest climbing areas in the world - Swiss Rhone Valley.

Narrow road and terrifying drop off.

 

There is a 300 meter tunnel near the lake at kilometer 26 so bring lights

100 meter Tunnel and sheer cliff just above Pointis-la-Chapelle at kilometer 8

This climb has an incredibly steep section of 16.5% average grade for a full kilometer beginning at kilometer 24 and two kilometers at 12.6% beginning at kilometer 23.2.
