CLIMB SUMMARY

Climb Summary

Passo Rolle is a nice ride in the Dolomites, but it should be down the list below Giau and Pordoi.  Unlike the dramatic rock formations visible during both the Giau and Pordoi climbs, we have mostly pleasant, quiet and wooded surroundings as we ascend Rolle.

Passo Rolle from Siror (south) is 19.8 km (12.3 mi), 1,127 m (3,700’) at 5.7% average grade with a maximum kilometer of 7.1% and from Predazzo (west) is 20 km (12.4 mi), 908 m (2,979’) at 4.5% average grade with a maximum 1 km of 8%.

Passo Rolle has been included in the Giro d’Italia 5 times between 1986 and 2009 (as of 2017 it had not been included since 2009) and was the first Dolomites Pass the Giro ever included (1937).
