CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Primo Tratto Salita Verso Bova

Ride 19.8 kilometers gaining 1,176 meters at 5.7% average grade.

Climb summary by PJAMM ambassador Bruce Hamilton, Midway, Utah.

This climb starts near the official southernmost point on the Italian peninsula in the town of Bova Marina. Immediately upon leaving the coast road this climb goes up abruptly and it’s a constant uphill for 1250 meters (4000 feet) of climbing. Once you are one or two kilometers from the small village of Bova Marina the climb is very quiet and isolated. Beautiful switchbacks up high with spectacular views of the road below and the coastal town and the ocean. One small village along the way but few people – we saw plenty of goats, sheep, and cows but only a few cars on the entire climb.

Thank you Bruce!!
