INTRO
“The west side of Route 9N is a short and solid hill that is popular with area climbers. A shallow start soon turns to more solid climbing as you head directly east with your target in front of you. Soon two lanes uphill appear giving you more room although traffic is generally light on this road. The slope eases before a final solid section takes you to its unmarked top. The end of Hurricane Road is a short distance ahead on the left. Due to its straight routing, 9N West is a fast descent.” (This quote is provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book, The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Northeast, pg. 114.)
