Cycling Cote de Domancy

Ride 2.5 kilometers gaining 216 meters at 8.7% average grade.

The Côte de Domancy is a category 2 climb in the French department of Haute-Savoie, near the town of Sallanches which has been featured in the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de France.

The Côte de Domancy is often included as part of a larger route in the region, connecting with other famous climbs such as the Col de la Colombière, Col des Aravis, and Col des Saisies. This area attracts many cyclists due to its challenging terrain and natural beauty.

This climb gained fame when it was the centerpiece of the 1980 UCI Road World Championships consisting of a 20 lap 12 kilometer circuit won by Bernard Hinault. Thereafter the Côte de Domancy was nicknamed Route Bernard Hinault.

This climb was featured in the 2021 and 2023 Tour de France.  In 2023, Côte de Domancy is the only categorized climb on the only time trial of the Tour de France.
