That’s the REAL DEAL!

There are two options to this route.  The Monte Rosso (Gallo) Vineyard route branches to the right at mile 1.5 onto Martin Rd.  However, one can also climb another ~.8 miles on Moon Mountain Road for a total of 2.3 miles / 925' / 8%.

This is an extremely scenic climb out of the Sonoma Valley. The first .8 miles of this climb are at 9.5%, but the climb softens substantially over its last mile.  The climb takes us into the heart of one of the many Sonoma County Gallo Vineyards (Monte Rossa).  With advance permission (we obtained permission from Ranch Lead Daniel Pate - 320-8953 for our trip) you can climb another mile+ on a very manageable gravel road through beautiful vineyard settings to the top of the vineyard.
