The 4.8% average is misleading, this is a challenging climb with some steep sections. It mostly sits at around 6/7% with a lot of kickers. It's quite exposed to the sun so be aware of that.

I discovered this while staying at a friends place on this very road. I immediately suggested to PJamm to add it. It doesn't have the highest Fiets, but it is a challenging climb. There is a lower part as well ... if you begin from the beginning of Fernan Lake Road, another 5 miles with around a 0.5% grade where you can fly because there is usually a tailwind pushing you up the canyon. Traffic is light but there is no shoulder. Plenty of cyclists on most summer days.
