This bridge isn’t much of a climb, but it’s the most elevation gain you’ll get in south Florida without getting on an elevator. So, since technically this is one of the toughest climbs in the state of Florida, it gets a page.

There’s a rather expensive toll for driving across the bridge to the Key, but cyclists and pedestrians can go back and forth any hour of the day for free
A cool beach park right at the start of the climb.
There’s a very nice bike lane, but I chose to ride on the sidewalk for extra protection with the concrete barrier. It’s a 3 lane road with cars driving at highway speeds, and can feel like you’re riding along an interstate.
