CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling The Ross, Isle of Arran.

Ride 2.3 miles gaining 903’ at 7.3% average grade.

The Ross is one of two passes that cross the mountainous Isle of Arran. You’ll begin near the beach and end one-thousand feet up with stellar views of the coastline and surrounding mountains. The pavement quality ebbs and flows but is, in general, pretty good. There are a few noteworthy rough sections towards the top, but they are mainly a concern while descending. The narrow road never pitches up too much and makes for a relatively relaxed and scenic climb on one of the most unique little islands I have ever set foot on. It is a short ferry ride over to this island climb, and well worth the trip.

Take the ferry to the island for a fun couple of climbs.

Climb starts At the intersection of A841 The Ross Road.

Great views along the way.

Some rough sections of road to beware of on the descent.

This was such a fun climb - well worth the trip.

That’s a wrap!!
