This is a good climb that starts from the center of Chambery. As you get higher up, there are some stunning views out over the surrounding valleys. There is an unlit tunnel about 5.5 k to the top, so consider bringing lights. If you continue on the D912/D512, you can complete the Chartreuse Trilogy (Col du Granier, Col du Cucheron, Col de Porte) ending in Grenoble.
