Revard averages 5.3% over 22.8 km (14.1 mi), climbing 1,243 m (4,077 ft). The grade is modest for the length but front-loaded: the steepest 10 km (6.2 mi) average 6.5%, the steepest 5 km (3.1 mi) 6.8%, the steepest 2 km (1.2 mi) 7.5% and the steepest kilometre 8.0%, with the steepest 100 yards (91 m) at 10.1%.
The hardest work is in the lower half as the road climbs out of the Chambéry basin toward Les Déserts and Plainpalais; the steepest grades end at La Féclaz. The final 5 km (3.1 mi) are noticeably easier across the plateau, though there are still pitches above 7% near the alpine farms.
Roadway: The road is paved throughout. It follows the D912 out of the Chambéry basin and the D913 across the plateau, and the tourist office lists the climb as accessible from mid-April to the end of October, depending on snow.
Traffic: Heaviest at the start: the wide road from Chambéry to Saint-Jean-d'Arvey carries a lot of local traffic. Traffic thins as the road passes through Les Déserts, where narrower, quieter alternatives via Le Favre and La Lézine leave the main road, with steeper pitches up to about 11%.
Parking: Saint-Alban-Leysse runs straight into Chambéry, so riders staying in the city can roll out to the start on flat roads rather than drive. Chambéry has a train station on the Paris-Lyon-Turin line if you are travelling by rail.
Gear: A compact chainset is comfortable for a climb this long, and the road is paved all the way, so a standard road bike is fine.
Provisions: La Féclaz and the summit both have places to eat, so you do not need to carry lunch. Fill your bottles in Chambéry, and bring a wind layer for the 22.8 km (14.1 mi) descent, as the summit sits at 1,524 m (5,001 ft).

La Féclaz is the big Nordic ski hub of the massif, with a biathlon stadium inaugurated in 2014, and it is where the steepest grades end. At the top, beyond the belvedere and the panoramic restaurant, look for the resistance memorial on the summit plateau.
For a loop, you can descend the D913 north to Aix-les-Bains, about 21.4 km (13.3 mi) of downhill, and return to Chambéry along the valley. That is the same road riders use to climb Revard from the lake side. The Tour de France also used nearby Col des Prés for Stage 17 (Chambéry to Voiron) on 22 July 2026, if you want to combine it with another climb.
