INTRO
The climb starts directly outside of the town of Villeta climbing almost to the town of Facatativa on the way to Bogota. Compared to the climb to El Vino this is on a 2 lane road with one lane in each direction and no divider. It also has many more twists and turns so it is a fairly different experience from that route even though the length and elevation gain are quite similar. Most of the traffic on the road consists of trucks and motorcycles and there is only a sloped shoulder so it's important to be careful and if possible it's worth it to have a motorcycle as company. The scenery is typical of the region with small farms and towns along the route.
