The Old Norton Summit Road is the eleventh hardest bike climb in South Australia. As with many of the top South Australian climbs, this one is in the Adelaide Hills, home to the Adelaide Hills Wine Region (planted 44,170 acres / 17,873 hectare; 37% Sauvignon Blanc, 19% Chardonnay).

The climb begins at the intersection of Norton Summit Road and Old Norton Summit Road.

Climb Summary by PJAMM Cycling’s Brad Butterfield:

Much different from Kensington Road Lookout and Coach Road, Old Norton Summit takes you for a ride through very old country homes and vineyards. Road quality is decent and the traffic is fairly mild, although there is no shoulder.  Some of these vineyards are over a hundred years old and have produced some of the finest wines -- award winning -- for decades upon decades. The gradient is mellow throughout, and towards the top are some nice views of the bustling city below.
