Lovely climb. Lots of variety (scenery, road surface (paved, gravel), steepness (roller with view peaks). And very quiet.

CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Col de la Platta

Ride 10.2 kilometers gaining 830 meters at 8.2% average grade.

Climb summary by PJAMM ambassador and Legendary Climbs collaborator Ties Arts, Busseum, Netherlands.

You start the climb at the junction in Courchevel Moriond (1650). The first 2.8km are between ski lodges with many hairpins and some steeper sections (10-12%). Then the first gravel kicks-in.  Until the restaurant La Casserole (4.9km) it is a continuous switch of gravel and paved roads.

Nearly half of the climb is gravel as of July, 2022.

Until the restaurant Alpage d’auberge d’Ariondaz (6.5km) the first real steep section is testing you: 18% for 100 meters. Then the final 3.5km starts with average 10.3% and many 15%+ sections. You almost always cycle next to ski lifts and cows.
