I rode this on the same day that the Tour de France riders climbed it, just a few hours before they arrived. Lots of fans wandering around, staking out their viewing spot for the stage, and cheering any other riders who were climbing up the hill. The road starts at about 15% right off the bat and stays that way for a bit. I focused on controlling my breathing because the HR goes up quite quickly. You then turn left under an arch and head for a hairpin turn to your right, where it gets slightly steeper. Once that is done, it's back to a difficult climb to the top of the hill. Not hugely difficult, but intense for a short period of time.
