Jonathan Dughi - the climb was all rideable with my gravel bike. There were some tough sections on the single track, but given the gravel climb after the lake and the downhill I wouldn’t do this with a mountain bike.
Christina Buettel - I did this route on a gravel bike. The climb that roughly parallels the road is mostly singletrack. Mtb would’ve been better for that part but not enough to make it worth it for the rest of the route IMO. The climb up to the ‘summit’ is on a fs road (gravel).
Joel Blatt - I recommend riding the pavement from Hwy 97 to the lake, then turn right on Paulina Peak which then becomes gravel and is excellent gravel climb.

I recommend parking at Hwy 97/Paulina Rd and ride the pavement to lake and then turn right towards Paulina Peak, which becomes gravel and is an excellent climb.
