Tom Verry - It starts as pavement then turns to smooth gravel then on the actual Larkspur climb it gets a little rougher but never gets to Jeep road roughness. I've done it on a 16lb road bike through a FS MTB, either works but the descent is where it could hurt. I was on Cutthroat w a 100mm shock and a suspension seat post and 2,1 tires and was very comfortable.
Whitton Feer- This climb is good to go on a gravel bike with a surface condition of 2-3 on a 1 smooth to 5 very rough scale.
