INTRO
Grahampa Steve - This is doable on a road bike, recommended tires at 42c Pathfinders and it's probably 4.5 gravel on a 1-5 scale with smooth 1 to very rough 5.
John Kingry - This climb is rideable on a gravel bike but maybe faster to do so than MTB. Some steep sections are loose with deep gravel and only 1 line. Some sections may need walking depending on ability but I have cleaned the entire climb. There are small sections I would rate as a 5 higher up but most is a 3 just loose on a surface scale of 1 smooth to 5 extremely rough.
Lily Halvorson - The climb is rideable on a gravel bike, but quite chunky. I recommend wide mtb-esque tires. That being said I did it with 40m tires that are not very knobby…just lots of sliding out.
Sam Gross - yes The Wasatch Wall is rideable on a gravel bike. That said, you may be happier on a MTB given the gradient and its current condition. I did this ride on my gravel bike but likely would have been happier on my MTB for the most difficult sections. On a scale of 1-5 I'd currently give it a 2 as far as surface condition.
