I think it’s the hardest climb I’ve done this year (which included Mt Washington). The difficulty really came down to the 10-16% grades on loose chunky surface. I rode on 50mm Pirelli Cinturato H, but something with a little more grip would have been better. I wouldn’t recommend anything smaller or smoother that’s for sure 😁. I stopped to let air out 3 times for that same reason so I recommend starting with the lowest pressure you’re comfortable with to save the time! The views of Sedona and the San Francisco peaks are epic. Note the flat 2.7ish miles in the middle and the mile descent later on. I descended the blacktop and that was an awesome ride. If you’re on a gravel bike I’m sure you would make the same call 😁. Not a ride I’d race back to, but definitely one worth crossing off the list if you’ve got the tires for it!
