INTRO
This is a very pleasant and remote bike climb with a couple quite challenging segments.
The average grade of 5.6% for the climb rises to 6.5% when descent is eliminated from the gradient calculation. The grade on this climb varies wildly - 7% is descent, 35% is at 0-5%, 37% is at 5-10%, 19% is at 10-15%, and 1% is at 15-20%. The steepest quarter-mile is 12.6% and steepest mile 11.4%.

This is a very pleasant bike climb with a couple quite challenging segments - The last mile of the climb averages 11.5% and there is a quarter mile stretch beginning about mile 1.8 at 13%.
While the western approach to Rist Canyon has its moments, it is less difficult than the eastern approach.
Turn left onto Rist Canyon Road from Stove Prairie Road (County Road 27) at mile 6.5
