Climb Summary

Cycling Snowshoe Drive West

Ride 5.6 miles gaining 1,705’ at 5.8% average grade.

“The more uniform approach to the Snowshoe Resort, the west side climb is steady and scenic and carries more traffic.  The climb ends as the grade levels out at the Shamrock condos on the left.”   (This quote provided with the approval of John Summerson from his book The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike), in the Southeast, pg. 139).

There are several segments that approach double digits in the first two-thirds of the climb.  The steepest quarter mile and full mile begin at mile 1.4 and are 10% and 7.6%, respectively.
