INTRO

Ride the cobbles to Chapel of Our Lady of Oudeberg.  Before the finish was moved back from Meerbeke to Oudenaarde, this was often the spot where the Tour of Flanders was won (or lost).  Muur is "wall" in flemish - "the wall shall choose the winner" is the motto of this cobbled climb. Citizens of Geraardsbergen have a poignant, but now outdated, saying - "There are three walls in the world - "The Great Wall of China, the Berlin Wall and ours."  This is one of the most famed and famous climbs in Europe.
