Bike climbing in South Korea is a hidden gem, with steep, winding roads cutting through misty mountains and lush green forests. The country’s extensive network of very well-paved roads and respectful drivers makes it a surprisingly ideal place for cyclists seeking elevation. From the rugged climbs of the Taebaek Mountains to the punchy rollers outside Seoul, every ascent is rewarded with great views and killer descents.
South Korea doesn't contain any climbs over 30 PDI, and the road elevation rarely breaks 1200 meters. However, what the country lacks in difficulty it makes up for in quantity. With mountains covering over 70% of the country, there are endless climbs to curate routes from.
