Tour de France History:  This climb has been included in the Tour de France as Stage 12 of the 2011, Stage 9 of the 2013, and will be included in Stage 12 of the 2019 TdF.

Along with Col du Tourmalet and Col d’Aspin, this is one of the 3 great bike climbs beginning in Sainte Marie de Campan.  Hourquette has been a minor player (connecting col) in the Tour de France 5 times (2011, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022).

Note that the 2022 TdF Hourquette route begins further south from Campan than the full Hourquette route because the 2022 TdF connects to Hourquette after the descent from Col d’Aspin.
