INTRO
The oldest running Ironman event in Oceania also contains the continent's steepest kilometer in a bike course - only a 5.7% average grade, but hitting 17% for a brief section. In fact, the hill on Matthew Flinders Drive is one of the steepest gradients you'll encounter in an Ironman race, and you have to do it twice!
