INTRO

Cycling Lombard Street, San Francisco - not one of the steepest but the most famous - we had to include it in our San Francisco Steep Climbs trip.  But, note - the "up" side of Lombard is against the flow of one way traffic so we cannot endorse the climb.  However, if you do it, do it early on a weekend morning - before 7 a.m.

We love San Francisco. The combination of legendary steepness, good food, and tons of great sightseeing makes this an awesome city to cycle in. Just outside the city are some of the most popular cycling climbs in America, like Mt. TamMt. DiabloHawk Hill, and Mt. Umunhum, making the Bay area one of the best cycling destinations in the country.
