CLIMB SUMMARY

Cycling Col des Mosses

Ride 13.3 kilometers gaining 550 meters at 4.1% average grade.

Col des Mosses is located in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland.  The climb is fairly easy but, as with all climbs in the Lake Geneva and Valais area of Switzerland, it is quite scenic.

Col des Mosses is a bit more well known than your average rural mild bike climb because it has been included in the Tour de France 5 times between 1949 and 2022.  This climb is featured in Stage 9 of the 2022 Tour de France.  The climb has also been included in the Tour de Romandie 3 times, but only once in the Tour de Suisse.

The steepest kilometer of this climb is 7% from km 9.5 to 10.5

This is a Cat 2 climb leading up to 2 Cat 1 climbs (Col de la Croix and Pas de Morgins on TdF 2022 Stage 9). This climb is mild compared to the Cat 1s that follow it - the maximum grade over 500 meters is 7.4 and the steepest 5 kilometer section is 5.3%.
