The northern border of the Lombardia Region of Italy borders southern Switzerland and is home to some of the greatest climbs in the world: Passo dello Stelvio (Bormio side), Passo di Gavia, Passo Mortirolo, Prato Maslino, etc. Lombardia is included in the Giro d'Italia each year, and the climbs in this province often determine the winner of the tour.
