There's a reason that the top pro cyclists and triathletes in the world consistently return to the Canary Islands to train in the winter: It's intense. The amount of formal climbs we have for these islands hardly do justice to the amount of climbing you'll do on any given ride here. These islands are truly a playground for those wanting to dial the gradients up to 11.
The climbs on the Canary Islands can be viewed on this page via the map (zoom in to view climbs in particular areas), by Climb Cards (photo and stats) or by a detailed list of the climbs that can be arranged in metric or imperial units by difficulty, distance (longest climbs in the area), altitude gained, highest elevation (highest summit), average grade (sort the grades by varying distances), lowest start point, etc. Click on "Climb Page" to jump to the detail page for that particular bike climb. We feel this page provides an excellent and comprehensive summary of the top, hardest and best bicycling climbs on the Canaries.
The Top 10 Hardest Bike Climbs on the Canary Islands are 1. Llano de las Animas, 2. Roque de los Muchachos (West), 3. Mount Teide (Los Cristianos), 4. Roque de Los Muchacho (East), 5. Mount Teide (El Medano), 6. Pico de Las Nieves (Ingenio), 7. Mount Teide (Puerto de la Cruz), 8. Pico de Las Nieves (Telde), 9. Mount Teide (Los Gigantes), and 10. Mount Teide (Guimar)
